SCOTT COUNTY SHERIFFS' OFFICE HOST TRAINING AND INFORMATIONAL EVENT ATTENDED BY SEVERAL AGENCIES IN SOUTHERN INDIANA

Scott- On 5-11-2022, the Scott County Sheriffs' Office hosted a training and informational seminar led by the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) that was attended by 14 personnel from the Bartholomew County Sheriffs' Office, Jefferson County Sheriffs' Office, New Albany Police Department, Scott County Prosecutors' Office, and the Scott County Sheriffs' Office.  NICB is "the nation's leading nonprofit organization exclusively dedicated to prevent and combat insurance fraud and crime utilizing data analytics, investigations, training, legislative advocacy, and public awareness". As the host for this training, Scott County Sheriffs' Office Major Joe Guarneri ensured local Deputies were provided another capability they may utilize when tasked with investigating vehicle theft or like crimes...this seminar provided exactly that and by offering attendance to our law enforcement partners in Southern Indiana, we were able to provide them with that same capability at no cost to the tax payer.

Sheriff Goodin stated the following about sponsoring this training event and others..."I find it extremely satisfying when leaders from surrounding agencies send their personnel to the Scott County Sheriffs' Office for training...our team works hard at earning the trust of other law enforcement agencies who we count on to assist us when needed. The number of agency partners we hosted today for this seminar makes me even more proud of the hard work demonstrated everyday by the men and women of this office".
