Scott County Sheriff's Deputies Continue to Stay Busy - Working Together, We are Making a Huge Difference

Scott County-Arrests continue to be made by Scott County Sheriff's Deputies as the push continues in the quest to make Scott County the safest place to live in America.

On March 21st, Detective Lieutenant John Hartman and Deputy Skylar Thompson placed Jacob T. Rice, 24 of Lexington, IN under arrest for escape and for two (2) counts of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, all level 6 felony charges.  Detective Lieutenant Hartman was requested by the Scott County Community Corrections Office to seek out and arrest Jacob Rice for violating the terms of his home incarceration agreement.

On March 25th, Morgan M. Richey, 36 of Scottsburg, IN was arrested and subsequently booked into the Scott County Jail.  Scott County Sheriff's Deputies made several controlled buys of narcotics from Morgan M. Richey over several months of investigating illegal trafficking of drugs in Scott County.  Detective Corporal Paul Clute filed for and received an arrest warrant for Morgan M. Richey through the Circuit Court of Scott County, charging her with two (2) counts of Dealing in Methamphetamine /Delivery of Methamphetamine in the amount of 10 grams or more.  Morgan M. Richey remains incarcerated in the Scott County Jail under a $10,000 full cash bond or $100,000 corporate surety bond.

NOTE:  Not only are Deputies arresting the offenders on the street, our Deputy Jailers are offering services and classes to our inmates.  These services and classes provide a path for our inmates to get clean while simultaneously receiving much needed job skills training, their high school equivalency diploma, substance abuse treatment, spiritual involvement with numerous church groups and association with peer support groups such as Thrive.
