Scott County Sheriff Releases Training Hour Statistics for 2021

(Training, Competency and Capability = Better Public Service)

Scott County-Scott County Sheriff Jerry Goodin recently released Deputies training hour statistics for 2021. Sheriff Goodin stated "We usually do not release this information, but I want the public to know just how hard our Deputies are working to become even better...I am extremely pleased with the commitment to training displayed by our team.  A trained employee is a competent and capable employee...tax payers deserve and expect no less than our best and after reviewing the hours of training accomplished, I am convinced your Sheriff's Office stands ready. The Sheriff's Office and the community working together is making Scott County the safest place to live in America".

Deputies across Indiana are required to attain a minimum of 24 training hours each year. In 2021, all full time and part time Scott County Sheriff's Deputies met the required minimum of 24 hours of training...they not only met the required 24 hours of training, they blew past it! The average number of training hours accomplished by each Deputy was 112.079, which again demonstrates the commitment to excellence displayed by your Scott County Sheriff's Deputies.  Sheriff Goodin stated the following..."the training stats are very humbling...I am proud to present this to the citizens of Scott County.  To go above and beyond what's required is another example of the exceptional service they provide to our community".
