12.5 Ounces of Methamphetamine Discovered on a Motorist Who Picked the Wrong County to Get Lost.

Scott County-On 2-28-2022, a vehicle stop was conducted after a report was received from a concerned citizen about a possible "rolling domestic situation" travelling on SR56 in eastern Scott County.  Deputies responded to the area where Scott County Deputy James Morris located a female walking on the side of the road after allegedly jumping from a vehicle as it was travelling west on SR56.  At approximately the same time, Chief Deputy Toby Deaton located the alleged vehicle and stopped it on SR56. Upon their arrival, Scott County Sheriff's Office Major Joe Guarneri and Lieutenant John Hartman began investigating the nature of the initial report of a domestic situation and upon completion of the investigation, the driver was identified as Bryant Long, 30 of Washington, Indiana.  Long advised they were travelling to Washington, Indiana from Louisville, Kentucky and got lost. The female passenger was identified as Kymbal Pruett, 42 also of Washington, Indiana. Kymbal Pruett was found to be wanted on a warrant issued by Knox County, Indiana authorities and she was subsequently arrested at that time.  Bryant Long was also placed under arrest moments later. While Deputies inventoried the vehicle, Deputies located 12.5 ounces (over ¾ of a pound) of Methamphetamine with a street value of more than $28,000.  Deputies also located Cocaine, Paraphernalia, and Marijuana. Long and Pruett were both transported to the Scott County Jail for incarceration. Sheriff Goodin advised the following..."for out of towners who haven't heard yet, the citizens of Scott County are in partnership with the Scott County Sheriff's Office. The citizens of Scott County are the extended eyes of the Sheriff's Office.  This is another community oriented policing example of a citizen seeing something that appeared wrong and then reporting what they saw so Sheriff's Deputies could investigate it further. Together we are making Scott County the safest place to live in America".
