Recent Arrests by the Scott County Sheriff's Office
Scott County-On December 11, 2020, Corporal Johnney Coomer and Deputy Skylar Thompson responded to an accident in rural Scott County. It was further reported that one vehicle had left the scene. As Corporal Coomer and Deputy Thompson were conducting the investigation at the scene of the accident they were able to provide surrounding agencies with the reported suspect vehicle description and direction of travel. Shortly thereafter the Scottsburg City Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the reported suspect vehicle.
As Corporal Coomer continued the investigation along with the Scottsburg City Police it led to the arrest of Amy Stacy, 35, of Deputy, IN, for Operating While Intoxicated, Possession of a Schedule I, II, III or IV Controlled Substance, Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Endangering a Person, Reckless Driving, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Driving While Suspended Prior and Possession of Paraphernalia.
On December 13, 2020, First Sergeant John Hartman conducted a traffic stop in rural Scott County. An investigation led to the arrest of two people on drug related charges. Peggy Collins, 47, of Crothersville, In, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Schedule I, II, III or IV Controlled Substance, Possession or Use of a Legend Drug, Maintaining a Common Nuisance and Possession of Paraphernalia.
Corey Smith, 27, of Underwood, In, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Paraphernalia and Visiting a Common Nuisance.
On December 13, 2020, First Sergeant John Hartman went to a local business in Scottsburg in an attempt to serve an outstanding arrest warrant. Upon arrival Katherine Mccarter, 37, of Scottsburg was arrested on outstanding arrest warrants for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Paraphernalia, Operator Never Licensed and Compulsory School Attendance.
