Recent Arrests by Sheriff's Office

Scott County-On September 9, 2020, First Sergeant John Hartman responded to an accident in rural Scott County.  Upon arrival an investigation led to the arrest of Charles Brown, 51, of Campbellersburg, IN, for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Endangering a Person, Operating While Intoxicated, Driving While Suspended Prior and Public Intoxication.

On September 9, 2020, First Sergeant John Hartman responded to rural Scott County in reference to a report of trespassing.  Upon arrival an investigation led to the arrest of two people for theft related charges, (Digging and Possessing Ginseng).  Richard Neace, 55, of Deputy, IN, was arrested for Theft less than $750, (Ginseng) and Hunting Without Permission, (Ginseng).  Green Neace, 76, of Deputy, IN, was arrested for Theft less than $750, (Ginseng) and Hunting Without Permission, (Ginseng).

On September 10, 2020, First Sergeant John Hartman served an out of county arrest warrant at the Scott County Sheriff's office.  Brian Johnson, 36, of Austin was arrested on an out of county arrest warrant.

On September 10, 2020, First Sergeant John Hartman responded to an accident in rural Scott County.  Upon arrival an investigation led to the arrest of Steven Gay, 41, of Austin for Operating While Intoxicated, Possession of a Schedule I, II, III or IV Controlled Substance, Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Endangering a Person, Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a Prior, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, Public Intoxication and Possession or Use of a Legend Drug.
