Traffic Stop and Pursuit Ends in Drug Related Arrest And More Drug Arrests by Applying Hotel/Motel Interdiction by Scott County Sheriff's Office

Scott County-On August 31, 2020, Corporal Johnney Coomer attempted to conduct a traffic stop in rural Scott County.  The driver of the motorcycle refused to stop and after a brief pursuit was apprehended.  Tyler Jackson, 28, of Lexington was arrested for Resisting Law Enforcement with a vehicle, Resisting Law Enforcement on foot, Altering an Identification Number, Possession of Methamphetamine, Driving While Suspended (prior), Unlawful Possession of a Syringe, Possession of Cocaine or a Schedule I or II Narcotic Drug At Least 5 Grams but Less Than 10 Grams, Possession of Paraphernalia and two counts of Criminal Mischief At Least $750 but less than $50,000.

On August 31, 2020, Deputies Skylar Thompson and Jessica Dickey and Corporal Johnney Coomer went to a local hotel in Scottsburg for an investigation.  Upon arrival contact was made with both occupants of the room.  An investigation led to the arrest of two people on drug related charges.  William Hamby, 33, of Scottsburg was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.  Charlie Young, 23, of Austin was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of a Syringe and Visiting a Common Nuisance.

On the same night, at the same Hotel, Corporal Johnney Coomer and Deputy Jessica Dickey went to another rented room.  As an investigation began it led to the arrest of two people for drug related charges.  Jacqueline Koch, 28, of Scottsburg was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Syringe and Visiting a Common Nuisance.  Nicholas Ferguson, 29, of Austin was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Syringe, Possession of Cocaine or a Schedule I or II Narcotic Drug At Least 5 Grams but Less Than 10 Grams, Possession of Methamphetamine, Maintaining a Common Nuisance and Possession of Paraphernalia.
