Busy Weekend for Scott County Sheriff's Office

 

Scott-On August 28, 2020, Deputy Chris Bowling responded to the Dollar General in Lexington, Indiana, in reference to an alleged theft.  While enroute, he passed the vehicle matching the description in question.  Deputy Bowling made contact with driver, Paula McKnight, age 40, of Louisville, Kentucky.  Further investigation resulted in the arrest of McKnight.  She was charged with THEFT -- LESS THAN $750, POSSESSION OF PARAPHERNALIA, and POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE.  McKnight was transported to the Scott County Jail.

On August 29, 2020, Deputy Zach Brown initiated a traffic stop on State Road 56.  Deputy Brown made contact with driver, William Sparrow, age 24, of Charlestown, Indiana.  Sparrow was arrested and charged with OPERATING A VEHICLE WHILE INTOXICATED ENDANGERING A PERSON and OPERATING A VEHICLE WITH A BAC OF 0.08 OR MORE.

On August 29, 2020, Deputy Zach Brown and Corporal Charlie Morgan responded to Sanders Road in reference to a vehicle in the ditch.  Deputy Brown made contact with a female sleeping in the backseat, identified as Melvina Davidson, age 27, of Austin, Indiana.  Further investigation led to the arrest of Davidson.  She was charged with PUBLIC INTOXICATION and POSSESSION MARIJUANA/HASH OIL/HASHISH OR SALVIA.  Davidson was transported to the Scott County Jail.

On August 29, 2020, Deputy Zach Brown made contact with a male, identified as Darrell Polly, walking on the railroad tracks.  Further investigation led to the arrest of Polly.  He was charged with POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE, UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF SYRINGE, MAINTAINING A COMMON NUISANCE, and CRIMINAL TRESPASS.

On August 29, 2020, Deputy JR Ward responded to Interstate 65 in reference to a traffic collision.  One occupant of the box truck fled the scene.  He was later found and identified as Joseph McConnell, age 47, of Louisville, Kentucky.  The other occupant in the vehicle was identified as Darrell Browning, age 31, of New Albany, Indiana.  Further investigation led to the arrest of McConnell and Browning.  McConnell was arrested and charged with AUTO THEFT, THEFT -- LESS THAN $750, and HABITUAL TRAFFIC VIOLATOR.  Browning was arrested and charged with AUTO THEFT, THEFT -- LESS THAN $750, and POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, HASH OIL, HASHISH OR SALVIA - PRIOR CONVICTION.  Both McConnell and Browning were transported to the Scott County Jail.

On August 30, 2020, Corporal Charlie Morgan responded to Blanton Drive in reference to a possible forced entry into a residence.  Upon arrival, Corporal Morgan made contact with homeowner, Cindy Allman, age 41, of Scottsburg, Indiana.  Further investigation, led to the arrest of Allman.  She was charged with POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE, MAINTAINING A COMMON NUISANCE, POSSESSION OF PARAPHERNALIA, and UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF SYRINGE.  Allman was transported to the Scott County Jail.
