Continuing to Make the Community a Safer Place
Scott County-On July 17, 2020, Deputy James Ward conducted a traffic stop in Scottsburg. An investigation led to the arrest of Justin Shasteen, 39, of Brownstown, IN. for an outstanding arrest warrant for Failure to Comply on Unlawful Possession of a Syringe.
On July 18, 2020, Deputies Christopher Bowling, Charlie Morgan and Darrell Cochran conducted a traffic stop in Scottsburg. An investigation led to the arrest of three people with one additional person being cited into court. Tammy Kemper, 42, of Austin was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Syringe, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Possession of a Schedule I, II, III or IV Controlled Substance, Possession or Use of a Legend Drug, Escape, Flees from Lawful Detention, False Informing, Possession of Cocaine or a Schedule I or II Narcotic Drug At Least 5 Grams but less than 10 Grams and an out of county warrant. Billy Hensley, 36, of Scottsburg was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Syringe with a Prior, Visiting a Common Nuisance and Dealing or Possession of a Lookalike Substance. Sherry Mcintosh, 35, of Scottsburg was arrested for Possession of Paraphernalia, Visiting a Common Nuisance, False Informing and an out of county warrant. Shelly Coomer, 37, of Washington, IN. was cited into court for Unlawful Possession of a Syringe.
On July 18, 2020, Corporal Kenton Makowsky and Austin Police Officer Cody Newsome responded to North Boatman Road for a physical disturbance. Upon arrival an investigation led to the arrest of Randy Dilger, 45, of Scottsburg for Domestic Battery, Two Counts of Battery with No Injury Victim is a Public Safety Official, Two Counts of Intimidation, Battery, Resisting Law Enforcement, Public Intoxication and Disorderly Conduct.
