Arrests by the Scott County Sheriff's Office

Scott County-On June 26, 2020, Deputy Charlie Morgan and Corporal Kenton Makowsky responded to a suspicious vehicle on Boatman Road near Jackson Heights Trailer Park.  Upon arrival an investigation led to the arrest of Travis Brock, 38, of Austin for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a Prior, Operating a Vehicle with a BAC of .08 or more, Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Endangering a Person, Resisting Law Enforcement, Intimidation and Operating a Vehicle with ACE of 0.15 or more.

On June 27, 2020, Corporal Johnney Coomer observed a vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle that had been reported as stolen earlier in the day.  Shortly thereafter Deputy Skylar Thompson and Corporal Coomer were able to conduct a traffic stop in Scottsburg.  An investigation led to the arrest of two people for multiple charges.  Joseph Lady, 31, of Lexington was arrested for Possession of Cocaine or a Schedule I or II Narcotic Drug, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Unlawful Possession of a Syringe, Neglect of a Dependent, Possession of Paraphernalia and Auto Theft.  Trista Lady, 26, of Lexington was arrested for Neglect of a Dependent, Unlawful Possession of a Syringe, Visiting a Common Nuisance, Possession of Paraphernalia, Possession of Cocaine or a Schedule I or II Narcotic Drug At Least 5 Grams but Less Than 10 Grams and Auto Theft.

On June 28, 2020, Deputies Skylar Thompson, Jessica Dickey, Corporal Johnney Coomer and Indiana State Trooper Cameron Collins responded to a complaint of an underage drinking party in southern rural Scott County.  Upon arrival, 12 people were located at the residence.  Of the 12 people, six were found to be drinking.  Due to jail restrictions on Misdemeanor Arrests because of the Corona Virus/Covid-19, the six people drinking under the age of 21 were cited into the Scott County Circuit Court for Illegal Consumption of Alcohol.  Those cited into court were, Tyler Bridgewater, 18, of Scottsburg, Riley Pool, 18, of Scottsburg, Ethan McGinnis, 19, of Lexington, Andrew Slaton, 18, of Lexington and Brantley Deaton, 18, of Scottsburg.  One additional juvenile was also cited into Juvenile Probation for Illegal Consumption of Alcohol. 

 

On June 28, 2020, First Sgt. John Hartman and Deputy Zach Brown assisted the Austin Police Department with bicyclists that were possibly intoxicated.  Upon finding the bicyclists an investigation led to the arrest of Brandon Bowman, 27, of Austin for an out of county warrant.  Brandon Bowman also received two additional charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Dealing or Possession of a Look Alike Substance.
