Just Because of the Corona Virus Do Not Think That You Can Break the Law in Scott County and Get By With It

Sheriff Goodin Again Praises Deputies Efforts In Continuing To Make Scott County A Safer Place For All

Scott County- On June 22, 2020, First Sgt. John Hartman went to an address in Scottsburg to conduct a drug investigation.  The investigation led First Sgt. Hartman to locate Marijuana and other drug related items.  Being a juvenile the subject could not be taken to jail however his information has been forwarded to the Juvenile Probation Department for review.    

On June 23, 2020, Deputies Zach Brown and Josh Juliot and Major Joe Guarneri went to an address on Plum Street in Austin in an attempt to serve an outstanding arrest warrant.  Upon arrival an investigation led to the arrest of two people for drug related charges.  Johnny Williams, 43, of Austin was arrested for Possession of a Schedule I, II, III or IV Controlled Substance, Maintaining a Common Nuisance and Unlawful Possession of a Syringe.  Megan Estep, 27, of Austin was arrested for Possession of a Schedule I, II, III or IV Controlled Substance, Maintaining a Common Nuisance and Unlawful Possession of a Syringe with a Prior.

On June 23, 2020, Sgt. John Hartman and Deputies Josh Juliot, Zach Brown, John Smith and Community Corrections Officer Brian Renschler went to an address in southern Scott County in an attempt to serve an outstanding arrest warrant.  Upon arrival Andrea Moore, 43, of Lexington was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for Failure to Comply for Theft with a Prior.

On June 23, 2020, Deputy Skylar Thompson responded to an address in northern Scott County for a battery that had already occurred.  Upon arrival an investigation led to the arrest of Ima Pearson, 46, of Austin for Battery.

On June 23, 2020, Deputy Zach Brown and Major Joe Guarneri responded to northern Scott County for a disturbance.  Upon arrival an investigation was conducted.  The investigation later led the arrest of Justin Smith, 30, of Austin for Criminal Trespass and Invasion of Privacy.

On June 24, 2020, Deputy James Ward met with a Jefferson County Deputy and was able to serve an outstanding arrest warrant.  Richard Bishop, 26, of Pekin, IN was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for Escape Failure to Return to Lawful Detention.

An investigation conducted by undercover detectives at the Scott County Sheriff's Office led to an arrest warrant and the arrest of Sharlene Marshall, 52, of Austin for two counts of Dealing in Methamphetamine, two counts of Possession of Methamphetamine and Unlawful Possession of a Syringe.
