The Scott County Sheriff's Office Continues Making Scott County Safer
Scott County-On June 17, 2020, Sgt. John Hartman responded to the area of US 31 South of Scottsburg in reference to a report of reckless driving. Upon arrival he observed the alleged suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. An investigation led to the arrest of Patrick Cozart, 29, of Scottsburg for Dealing in Cocaine or Narcotic Drug, Possession of Cocaine or a Schedule I or II Narcotic Drug At Least 5 Grams but Less Than 10 Grams, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Possession of Paraphernalia, Operating While Intoxicated, Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Endangering a Person and Possession or Use of a Legend Drug.
On June 17, 2020, the Scott County Sheriff's Office assisted agents with the A.T.F., the Indiana State Police and the U.S. Marshalls with the service of a Felony Parole Warrant. Joseph Burhop, 32, from Hesperia, California was wanted for Fleeing Police with a Vehicle, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Felony Obstruction of an Officer and Robbery out of California. Deputy Josh Juliot conducted a traffic stop after Deputy John Smith used the Sheriff's Office Drone to locate the suspect in Scottsburg.
