Investigation leads to the Arrest of Male for Allegedly Battering Two Children

Scott County-In late April, Detective Jacklyn Shofner received a complaint from the Department of Child Services about an alleged battery against two children.  An immediate investigation began and the children were placed into protective custody.  As the investigation proceeded, Detective Shofner worked with the Scott County Prosecutor's Office to obtain search warrants.  Numerous interviews were also conducted while working with D.C.S. and the Scott County Prosecutor's Office.

On today's date, an arrest warrant was issued out of the Scott County Circuit Court for Christopher Jourden, 33, of Lexington, IN. He was charged with two counts of Level 5 Felony Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury to a Person Less Than 14 Years of Age, a Level 6 Felony Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury to a Person Less Than 14 Years of Age, a Level 6 charge of Obstruction of Justice and a Misdemeanor charge of Possession of Paraphernalia. 

Christopher Jourden was arrested by Scott County deputies and incarcerated at the Scott County Jail. 

This investigation is continuing.
