Search Warrant and Criminal Patrol Continue to Keep Scott County Safe

Scott County-On April 3, 2020, Deputies Kenton Makowsky and Charlie Morgan completed an ongoing investigation of the alleged sale and use of illegal narcotics.  This investigation led to applying and receiving a search warrant for a residence of 5215 N. Jack Morgan Road in rural Austin.  After completing the search warrant James Meredith, 34, of Austin was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.

On April 6, 2020, Deputy Johnney Coomer was on routine patrol when he observed a suspicious vehicle on Lovers Lane.  A traffic stop was conducted on the suspicious vehicle.  An investigation led to the arrest of two people for multiple charges.  James Shestko, 34, of Tucson, AZ., was arrested for Theft less than $750, Criminal Trespass, Burglary, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Counterfeiting or Forgery and Violation of the Governor's Order.  Kadie Spencer, 28, of Charlestown, IN., was arrested for Burglary, Theft less than $750, Criminal Trespass, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Paraphernalia, Visiting a Common Nuisance, Trafficking with an Inmate and Violation of the Governor's Order. 

During the course of the investigation Deputy Coomer recovered a stolen shotgun, several stolen BB guns and other miscellaneous stolen items.

Sheriff Goodin stated he is extremely pleased with the extra patrol results. Four people have been arrested in less than a week for theft related charges.
