Recent Arrests By The Scott County Sheriff's Office
Scott County-On January 2, 2020, Deputy Kenton Makowsky and Reserve Deputy Steve Bowers conducted a traffic stop in Austin. An investigation led to the arrest of Darrell Deary, 49, of Austin for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Schedule I, II, III or IV Controlled Substance and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.
On January 2, 2020, Deputy Skylar Thompson, Deputy Johnney Coomer, and Austin Police Officer Cody Kelley, went to a residence in Austin on information that an individual with an active out of county warrant, identified as Thomas Self, age 55, of Austin, would be located there. Upon arrival, Deputy Thompson made contact with Self. He was arrested and transported to Scott County Jail on the out of county warrant.
On January 3, 2020, Deputy John Smith conducted a traffic stop in Scottsburg. An investigation led to the arrest of Sally Hall, 34, of Austin for Driving While Suspended Prior.
On January 4, 2020, Deputies Johnney Coomer and Chris Bowling went to an address in rural Scott County in an attempt to serve an outstanding arrest warrant. Upon arrival Aaron Akemon, 30, of Scottsburg was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.
On January 5, 2020, while on routine patrol Deputy John Hartman observed a vehicle sitting in the parking lot at a local business in northern Scott County after the business was already closed. An investigation led to the arrest of Deven Tingle, 42, of Scottsburg for Driving While Suspended Prior.
On January 5, 2020, Deputy James Ward conducted a traffic stop in rural Scott County. An investigation led to the arrest of Stanley Sawyer, 46, of Brownstown, In. for Driving While Suspended Prior.
