Shop with a Sheriff Brings Happiness and Joy for the Kids
And Sheriff's Employees
Scott County-On December 19, 2019, the Scott County Sheriff's Office conducted their first "Shop with a Sheriff Program." The Sheriff's Office took 25 children to Christmas shop. There were five children chosen by each grade school in Scott County. The children were taken to Wal-Mart and bought clothes and toys. From Wal-Mart the children were taken to the Mid-American Science Park where they were fed pizza, cookies and hot chocolate. While at the Mid-American Science Park the children were visited by Santa Clause. Nearly 30 employees from the Scott County Sheriff's Office participated.
The Scott County Sheriff's Office would like to thank Wal-Mart, Domino's Pizza, Papa John's Pizza, Genpak, Goat Milk Stuff, the Mid-American Science Park, Austin Elementary School, Johnson Elementary School, Lexington Elementary School, Scottsburg Elementary School and Vienna Elementary School for all of their help in making "Shop with a Sheriff" a success.
Sheriff Goodin was extremely excited about the event and stated "this is one of those things that makes Scott County such a great place to live."
