Fight in Jail Lobby and Theft, (Separate Cases), Lands Two in Jail

Scott-On September 19, 2019, Broc Rogers, age 33, of Scottsburg, entered into the Scott County Jail Lobby and stated he had a Warrant for his arrest showing on the Sheriff’s Website. Once Patti Combs, Scott County Sheriff’s Office Jailer, advised him indeed he did have a “Writ of Attachment” warranting his arrest, he stated that he wasn't going to jail. Rogers then lunged at Deputy Donald Spicer, (who arrived to assist), and Jailer Combs, striking both of them, he then fled the lobby. A foot pursuit started and at one point, Rogers stopped and turned around to confront officers again. During the scuffle Rogers reached on the ground for what was later identified as a large hunting knife that had fallen from his waistband.

Officers placed Broc Rogers into custody and incarcerated him at the Scott County Jail. Rogers was arrested for WRIT OF ATTACHMENT, BATTERY - NO INJURY; VICTIM IS A PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICIAL, BATTERY - NO INJURY; VICTIM IS A PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICIAL, and  RESISTING LAW ENFORCEMENT.

“Later Yesterday Evening”

Deputy John Hartman along with Lieutenant Shawn Mayer of the Scott County Sheriff's Office arrested Jonathan Jones, age 33, of Scottsburg, for THEFT - GREATER THAN $750 LT $50,000. Jones was transported to the Scott County Jail.
