Third Person Arrested by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office on an Overdose Related Case

(Other Drug Arrests Land Two in Jail)

Scott County-On June 4, 2019, the Scott County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation on an overdose with assistance of the Austin City Police and the Scott County Prosecutor’s Office. This investigation has led to charges and the arrest of Mindy White. Mindy White, 38, of Scottsburg, has been charged and arrested for Dealing in a Narcotic Drug and Maintaining a Common Nuisance. The original overdose occurred in May and was attended to by the Austin City Police.

This is the third arrest related to an overdose that has been made by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office since Sheriff Goodin made it mandatory for his officers to investigate all overdoses to try and find the source and dealer of the drug that caused the overdose.

On June 17, 2019 Deputy Joe Baker and Deputy Johnney Coomer went to Village Court Apartments in Austin acting on a tip of illegal drug activity. Upon arrival an investigation led to the arrest of two females. Maranda Parrish, 27, of Lexington was arrested for Possession of Marijuana, Maintaining a Common Nuisance and Possession of Paraphernalia. Stephanie Ridner, 28, of Austin was arrested for Possession of Marijuana, Maintaining a Common Nuisance and Possession of Paraphernalia.
