Former Jail Officer Arrested for Theft and Ghost Employment

Scott County-On December 31, 2018, the Scott County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation on alleged ghost employment by Christopher D. Mayfield, a Jailer at the time. After the investigation was completed it was turned over to the Scott County Prosecutor’s Office for review. Christopher D. Mayfield, 23, of Scottsburg, was charged and arrested on a warrant for one count of Ghost Employment and three counts of Theft.
