Incident Involving Sheriff's Office K9

This morning, Deputy Zachary Brown was tending to his assigned K9 partner "Zeus" when the K9 turned/became aggressive towards Deputy Brown. The K9 attacked Deputy Brown and caused some bite and scratch injuries to Deputy Brown. Deputy Brown was transported, treated and released from Norton's Hospital at Scott County.

The K9 was subdued and will be in quarantine for Ten Days and is scheduled to be examined by a veterinarian to check the K9 for health reasons that may have caused him to turn against his handler.

Sheriff Goodin has placed the K9 out of service until further information is gathered. This release is being made to keep the public up to date on issues that affect the Sheriff's Office.
