An Overnight "Drive by Shooting" in Scott County Investigated by Sheriff's Deputies. There is No Current Danger to the Community.

Scott County- Overnight (9-7-2024), Scott County Sheriff's Deputies have been actively investigating a complaint of a "drive-by shooting" as described by witnesses, in the Lexington area of Scott County. The investigation is ongoing, and Scott County Sheriff Jerry Goodin wants the public to know the situation is under control, with no known current danger to the community. A follow-up release will be completed once more information is known.
UPDATE: On 9-10-2024, the following information was released by Scott County Sheriff's Office Detectives. After several interviews of the two (2) suspects, identified as David Lewis, 47, of Charlestown, Indiana, and Savannah Edwards, 38, also of Charlestown, Indiana, detectives gathered that Lewis and Edwards did fire multiple shots near the home of Edwards' former boyfriend, nearly striking him. The shooting occurred from the roadway, where Lewis and Edwards fled the scene by car and were later apprehended by Indiana State Police Troopers and Clark County Sheriff's Deputies. Lewis and Edwards were arrested for Attempted Murder, Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon, Pointing a Loaded Firearm, Disorderly Conduct, and Possession of Marijuana.
Detectives advised the investigation is ongoing, where additional information and evidence are being collected. Lewis and Edwards were remanded to the Scott County Jail, where they remain at this time
