Scott County- On August 15th, an investigation involving a child sexual predator concluded with an arrest of the alleged suspect. The investigation, which began on August 7th, involved Deputies with the Scott County Sheriff's Office and Austin City Police Officers, focusing on an alleged predator from Clark County, Indiana contacting who he thought was a 13-year-old Scott County juvenile. The communication was of a sexual nature, culminating with the alleged predator, Kenneth L. Snyder, Jr., 47, of Charlestown, Indiana arriving at a home in Austin, Indiana to meet with who he thought was the juvenile. Snyder was apprehended by Sheriff's Deputies as he entered the residence, where he was placed under arrest and transported to the Scott County Jail without incident. Sheriff Goodin advised the following... "If you think for a moment that you can come to Scott County and prey upon our kids, you had better think again. We will do whatever it takes to protect our citizens, especially our children. I want to congratulate my team for a job well done and to thank the Austin City Police and the Scott County Prosecutor's Office for their assistance with this investigation and subsequent arrest of this alleged predator".
