Vigilant Patrol by Scott County Sheriff's Deputies results in Arrest for Possession of Drugs and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender - Your Deputies working Hard to Keep Scott County Safe!

Scott County- On 5-22-2024 at approximately 12:14 am, Scott County Sheriff's Deputy Jalen Nierman and Corporal Zachary Brown were on patrol in Scott County. After witnessing a traffic violation in the City of Scottsburg, a traffic stop was initiated in the Speedway Parking Lot, near the State Road 56 and I-65 overpass. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Anthony W. Adams, 42, of North Vernon, Indiana was operating the motor vehicle with a suspended driver's license and was wanted on an active arrest warrant out of Johnson County, Indiana. Additionally, Adam's had moved to Scottsburg approximately 30 days ago and had failed to register as a sex offender as required. Further investigation revealed Adam's had alleged Methamphetamine, Fentanyl, Cocaine, and other controlled substances in his possession, along with a loaded handgun. Deputy Nierman placed Adam's under arrest and transported him to the Scott County Jail without incident. Assistance at the scene was provided by Deputy Kacey Reschar alongside K-9 Karma and the Scottsburg City Police. Adam's was arrested for the following criminal violations.

  •    Possession of Methamphetamine
  •    Possession of a Level I, II, III, or IV Controlled Substance
  •    Maintaining a Common Nuisance
  •    Possession of Paraphernalia
  •    Failure to Register as a Sex Offender
  •    Possession of a Legend Drug
  •    Operating a Motor Vehicle while Never Licensed
  •    Driving while Suspended
  •    Wanted on a Warrant (Johnson County)
