Scott County Sheriff's Office is Ready...."Operation Eclipse Responce:

Scott County Sheriff's Office is Ready... "Operation Eclipse Response"

Scott County- As we stand ready to answer any calls for service in Scott County regarding any issues that may evolve from the impending solar eclipse, Scott County Sheriff Jerry Goodin wants you (our citizens) to know "we are ready to respond to any situation that may arise".  Deputies will be out in force, strategically positioned throughout Scott County to immediately respond to any emergency that may occur. You may ask... what can I (the citizen) do to help keep Scott County safe? Here are a few tips;

  • If you travel away from your home on Monday, please plan accordingly due to the expected volume of traffic on the roadways.
  • Stock up (at least a few days' worth) on those items you need in case we have a shortage of grocery supplies.
  • Fill up your primary vehicle with fuel this weekend so you have gas next week if needed.
  • Do not park in the roadway or along the edge of the road where you would be blocking traffic before, during, or after the eclipse.
  • Stay off any railroad track or property (per railroad personnel).
  • Finally...STAY SAFE and ENJOY this once in a lifetime event!

Remember, we are here to serve you...if we can be of help to you in anyway, please don't hesitate to give us a call.
