Scott County Sheriff is Proud of the "Growth, Rehabilitation, and Clean Effort (GRACE) Program" at the Scott County Jail and the Program Coordinator

Scott County-On 6-2-2023, Ms. Shonita Flamion, the Growth, Rehabilitation, and Clean Effort (GRACE) Coordinator at the Scott County Jail, attended the 2023 Macro United Conference in St. Louis, Missouri, showcasing the Scott County Jail GRACE Program to attendees from all over the United States. The Macro United Conference invites social work educators, students, and practitioners at all levels of practice to participate in a collaborative event, focused on complex social problems facing communities across America.  Ms. Flamion, who is a Ph.D. candidate, advised the following... "It was an honor to present the Scott County Jail Program to my peers and attendees from across the country.  The Scott County GRACE Program is a shining example of what team collaboration can achieve".

The event concluded on 6-4-2023, but the good works of the Scott County Jail GRACE Program continue. As of today's date, 28 inmates have completed the Scott County Program with only one (1) returning to custody after reoffending. Sheriff Goodin stressed the following... "The programs like GRACE offered to inmates in the Scott County Jail are making a difference in people's lives...by changing one heart at a time, we are returning souls once broken to a waiting family for healing to continue. As long as I am the Sheriff of Scott County, we will do everything we can to help these families".

NOTE:  The Grace Program is just one (1) of 9 unique programs offered to our inmates while incarcerated at the Scott County Jail...from spiritual healing and cognitive mental health therapy to job and life skills training opportunities, we do our absolute best to return each inmate to the community better than when they entered...it's our responsibility to do so.
