Sheriff McClain and two deputies responded to a state police pursuit on I- 65 today. Deputy Rick Barrett and Deputy Jeremy Arnold positioned themselves South of the Scottsburg overpass and prepared to deploy stop sticks as the pursuit headed north on I 65 from Clark County. Sheriff McClain position himself at the 26 mile marker and advised the deputies as the pursuit passed him going north. Deputy Arnold deployed his stop sticks which blew out the vehicle’s front tires and forced the vehicle to stop less than a mile later. Indiana state police took the subject into custody.
Monday, September 3, Labor Day, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call that state police were in pursuit of a vehicle southbound on I- 65 from Jackson County. Deputies Rex Herald and Shawn Mayer responded to the interstate and positioned themselves south of the Austin exit and prepared to deploy stop sticks. Both Deputy Harold and Deputy Mayer were able to deploy stop sticks on the vehicle blowing out the tires and bring it to a stop. Again state police took the subject into custody.
