On January 14, 2013, the Scott County Sheriff’s Department responded to an accidental gunshot wound to the leg. The male victim was transported to University of Louisville Hospital via helicopter for treatment.
On January 16 and 19, 2013, Frontier Communications reported that copper wire had been taken from utility poles on Slab Road and from West State Road 56. Approximately 500 feet was taken.
On January 16, 2013, the Scott County Sheriff’s Department began an investigation into the theft of a USB Sim card that was removed from one of the Video Court Televisions within the Sheriff’s Department. The SIM card was subsequently found. Interviews have taken place and charges are expected to follow.
On January 17, 2013, the Scott County Sheriff Department began an investigation into a possession of drugs incident which was discovered. Inmate Justin Clay was searched after returning from court and an amount of marijuana weighing less than thirty (30) grams, a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Methamphetamines weighing less than three (3) grams and drug paraphernalia were seized. The contraband was found in his underwear. Charges are expected to be filed.
The Scott County Security Center transported 36 inmates to Superior Court and 16 inmates to Circuit Court since between January 14th and January 20th. They also transported 8 inmates to various locations, such as, Department of Corrections and Doctor Appointments.
Seven (7) TIPS were called in to the Sheriff’s Department Tip Line since January 14th.
