Man Wanted for Child Solicitation and Sexual Misconduct with a Minor

SCOTT COUNTY, IN — The Scott County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding a man wanted for questioning on multiple allegations of child molestation, child solicitation, sexual misconduct with a minor, possession of child pornography and intimidation.

Authorities with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Indiana State Police and the US Marshals Service are actively searching for 39 year-old Christopher J. Broy. Broy currently has warrants for his arrest out of Harrison County, IN. for charges involving sexual misconduct with a minor, child solicitation, possession of child pornography, and invasion of privacy.

Broy is described as 6’01”, approximately 200 lbs with Brown Hair and Brown Eyes. Broy’s pictures show him to be scruffy at times and to have a thin beard and goatee.

Broy has been allegedly soliciting middle school and high school aged juvenile females through the Facebook Messenger and Snapchat apps. It is believed that Broy is operating under several different Facebook and Snapchat aliases. Facebook has deactivated several of his accounts to date. The known Facebook names are/were: “Chris Broy”, “Chris B”, “Jeremy J_G”, “CJ Aintgivenup”. Broy’s Snapchat name is “Cjbroy46”. It also appears that Broy has a Twitter account under “Cjbroy46” It’s important to note that when Broy is operating under an alias on Facebook, he has been known to use fake profile pictures portraying him to be a young boy. Broy has commonly provided a false age to his victims ranging from 19-24 years old.

Authorities have recently received information that Broy is aware that he has active arrest warrants. Broy has recently been posting to social media making reference that he is in possession of a firearm.

Scott County Sheriff Dan McClain encourages parents to educate themselves and their children regarding social media safety. Sheriff McClain urges parents to be aware and monitor their children’s online social media activity and to frequently check their friend’s lists for potential fake profiles.

Broy's Apprehension is a matter of public safety and he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Broy is known to frequent Scott, Clark, Floyd and Harrison counties. Authorities are asking anyone who knows the whereabouts of Broy to contact the Scott County Sheriff’s Office at 812-752-8400.

The Sheriff’s Office also maintains several options for reporting criminal activity anonymously including the department’s website, Facebook page, and a tip line.
