On 09/10/2014 Scott County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an active methamphetamine lab near the intersection of Booe Road and Jack Morgan Road. The lab was reported by a County Highway worker as “suspicious trash” in the ditch line after he struck the items with a ditch mower. After the items were struck, they began emitting smoke. When Deputies arrived, they recognized that the “suspicious items” were consistent with those of a “one pot” meth lab. The Indiana State Police Meth Suppression unit was contacted and responded to the scene. The ISP Meth Suppression unit specializes in the dismantling and discarding of meth lab remnants and trash.
Sheriff Dan McClain wants to remind the public about the dangers of meth labs and encourages the citizens of Scott County to report any suspicious trash or activity, including drug activity to the Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff McClain reminds the citizens that the Scott County Sheriff’s Office maintains a tip line where callers can remain anonymous.
