June 15, 2013: The Scott County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of US 31 and Booe Road to assist the Austin Police Department with a two vehicle crash involving a motorcycle. During the investigation Emergency Responders tended to Rick Brock, the person driving the motorcycle; he was Air Lifted to the University of Louisville Hospital with life threatening injuries. The driver of the SUV, Timothy Bowling, was not injured and later arrested for Driving While Suspended (prior).
June 15, 2013: The Scott County Sheriff’s Office responded to State Road 356 and Concord Road to investigate a motorcycle crash. During the investigation it was found that Pamela Smith was east bound on State Road 356 when she failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the travel portion of the roadway.
Emergency Responders along with the Air Methods Helicopter were close by at the Old Settlers Festival and were able to respond quickly to assist the motorcyclist.
Smith was part of a large group of riders that were on their way to New Washington, Indiana.
Smith was Air Lifted to the University of Louisville Hospital with significant injuries.
