Stabbing suspect still at large; Sheriff office asking for assistance in locating.

On the evening of June 6, 2013,  deputies were dispatched 3694 West Thomastown Road in Scottsburg Indiana in reference to an unresponsive male subject. While en route, deputies learned that the subject had possibly suffered multiple stab wounds. Upon arrival deputies located a 43 year old male subject that have suffered several apparent stab wounds. The subject was unconscious,unresponsive and was being treated by family members on the scene. The victim was initially treated by EMS but was later flown to the University of Louisville hospital by a medical helicopter. Witnesses at the scene stated that the individual responsible for the stabbing had fled the scene on foot and was accompanied by his wife. A search of the area was conducted by Scott County Sheriff's deputies and officers from Scottsburg and Austin Ctiy Police. The suspect is still at large and is considered to be armed and dangerous. The suspect is identified as Benjamin Coomer, age 46. Coomer is still possibly accompanied by his wife, identified as Melinda Coomer, age 35. Both subjects are wanted by the Scott County Sheriff's Office for questioning in connection to the stabbing.
