Sheriff McClain and Deputies with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office along with Federal Authorities located and arrested Lonnie Huff in Florence, IN.
Authorities have been pursuing Huff since late February. The Scott County Sheriff’s Office reached out to the FBI and US Marshals Service after it became apparent that Huff was actively evading the police.
During the course of the investigation, Officers were able to track down and locate Huff at a hotel near Belterra Casino in Florence Indiana.
Huff was taken into custody without incident. Huff was transportedby federal authorities and taken to a holding facility to be processed for federal charges relating to the possession of narcotics and firearms.
Huff is wanted in Scott County for dealing in methamphetamine, two counts of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a handgun by a serious or violent offender, three counts of burglary and receiving stolen property.
Huff is facing additional charges in Jennings County for theft and criminal mischief.
Members that were involved in this investigation were from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Scottsburg City Police, Indiana State Police, New Albany Police Department, Great Lakes Region US Marshals task force, F.B.I. Safe Streets task force, and Agents with the F.B.I.
