Deputies Keep up the Pressure on Drug Dealers

Clark County Man arrested with Drugs, Gun and Narcotics Officers Hat

Scott County-Late yesterday evening, Scott County Deputies Kenton Makowsky and Charlie Morgan made a traffic stop on Interstate 65 near the 31 Mile Marker, NB, in Scott County on a white Dodge Durango for a traffic infraction. During the traffic stop, deputies made contact with the driver, William McCoy, 33, from Kettle Bottom Road, in Nabb, IN. During the conversation deputies developed probable cause to search the vehicle. During the search, deputies located two flashlights taped to the rearview mirror. When turned on, they were shown to display red and blue lighting. Deputies also located a navy blue hat inscribed with "Narcotics Officer". Deputies continued to search and located two navy blue uniform security officer shirts, sleeve patches, and a back patch. Other security officers clothing was also found in the vehicle.

As the search continued deputies located a sawed off shotgun with no serial numbers and a black cinch style bag containing unused syringes, white residue and scales. Officers also located over three grams of suspected Methamphetamine and a small amount of Marijuana.

After the search, deputies placed William McCoy under arrest and transported him to the Scott County Jail for the following charges:

- Dealing in Methamphetamine 1g to 5g (Firearm Enhancement) - Obliterating Identification Marks on a Handgun - Impersonating a Public Servant- Law Enforcement Officer - Possession of Methamphetamine - Unlawful Possession of a Syringe - Maintaining a Common Nuisance - Possession of Paraphernalia - Possession of Marijuana
