Scott County Sheriff's Deputy Utilizing Community Oriented Policing Patrol Results in a Substantial Seizure of Alleged Methamphetamine, Ecstasy, Heroin, and Paraphernalia, and the Apprehension of a Wanted Felon.

Scott County-On 4-7-2023 at approximately 9:37 pm, Lieutenant Charlie Morgan and K-9 Zeus of the Scott County Sheriff's Office were on patrol on US Highway 31 in the City of Scottsburg. Lieutenant Morgan observed suspicious activity near an apartment building parking lot, observing a male person he recognized to be wanted by the Indiana State Department of Corrections leaving the area in the backseat of a vehicle he had just entered. After conducting a stop of the vehicle, Lieutenant Morgan was able to verify the identity of the alleged wanted person, who identified himself as Christopher Allen Trick, 35, with no home address provided, as a wanted person and subsequently placed him under arrest. Upon further investigation at the scene, Lieutenant Morgan located a substantial amount of alleged Methamphetamine (approximately 103.8 grams), Ecstasy, Heroin, and drug paraphernalia, which Lieutenant Morgan also arrested Trick for in addition to the Department of Corrections warrant. Trick was transported to the Scott County Jail without incident, where he remains incarcerated. Trick was booked into jail for the following criminal offenses.

  •    Possession of Methamphetamine at least 28 Grams
  •    Possession of Cocaine or a Narcotic Drug
  •    Maintaining a Common Nuisance
  •    Obstruction of Justice
  •    Dealing in Methamphetamine at least 10 Grams or m
